This is a two week course. This program will focus on the why and how behind each skill. The relationship between body systems, disease, illness, and patient treatment plans. Medical and nursing terminology, legal limits of your scope of practice in the healthcare profession, key observations during patient care treatments and procedures. Students will learn how to assist with sterile procedures such as catheter insertion, change and removal, sterile dressing changes, IV removal and more. This course also concentrates around functioning appropriately during an emergency, maintaining professionalism, credibility and leadership skills. Student will also be provided with a clinical component at no extra cost. The clinical component will be arranged by school staff.
On successful completion student will be issued a certificate of completion. Certification can be obtained through the State of Michigan.
